TYPO3 Newsletter - April 2020
Herzlich willkommen zur neuen Ausgabe des TYPO3 Newsletters. Hier findest Du Neuigkeiten und Interessantes aus dem TYPO3-Universum.
Corona hat uns alle noch fest im Griff, natürlich bleibt die TYPO3-Welt davon nicht unbeeinflusst. Viele geplante Events wurden bereits abgesagt. Bei anderen, die erst gegen Ende des Jahres stattfinden sollen, ist es momentan noch nicht abzusehen, ob sie wie geplant durchgeführt werden können.
Doch die Krise fordert zwangsläufig auch in vielen Bereichen unsere Kreativität, und es ist toll, wie schnell zum Beispiel viele TYPO3 Usergroups auf "Virtuelle Treffen" per Videokonferenz umgeschwenkt sind. Das bietet endlich auch die Möglichkeit, an Usergroup-Treffen teilzunehmen, die sonst vielleicht hunderte Kilometer entfernt stattfinden. Als Tools dienen dabei unter anderem Jitsi, Slack oder Zoom. Wir haben weiter unten ein paar demnächst statt findende Online-Treffen aufgelistet. Ich denke, dieses Konzept könnte auch "nach Corona" beibehalten bzw. ausgebaut werden.

Das Hauptereignis in der TYPO3-Welt war im April natürlich die Veröffentlichung der neuen Version 10. Am 21.04. war es endlich soweit, und wir durften die neue LTS-Version endlich begrüßen. Viele der geplanten Release-Parties fanden relativ spontan online statt, auch in einem Live-Stream auf Youtube wurden die neuen Funktionen vorgestellt.
Wenige Tage nach der Veröffentlichung von TYPO3 10.4.0 wurde bereits Version 10.4.1 nachgereicht, die ein paar kleinere Fehler behob. Im gleichen Zuge wurde auch mit TYPO3 9.5.16 ein Wartungs-Update veröffentlicht.
Wie werden eigentlich die Zertifizierungen an neue TYPO3-Versionen angepasst? Marc Willmann gestattet uns hier einen interessanten Blick hinter die Kulissen.
The TYPO3 TCA Option "setToDefaultOnCopy" has been removed in TYPO3 10 in order to reduce the amount of checks in DataHandler and the amount of available options in TCA. The documentation says, that "This option was only there for resetting some `sys_action` values to default, which can easily be achieved by a hook if needed. If an extension author uses this setting, this should be achieved with proper DataHandler hooks."
