Search engine optimization for TYPO3 with cs_seo

Extension key: cs_seo

Introduction

The extension cs_seo can be a useful helper for the on-page search engine optimization of a TYPO3 website. The features include the manipulation of the page title, creation of a canonical tag, a simulated preview of the page display in the Google search results and a backend module for clear display and editing of many parameters.

In 4 videos we show the installation and configuration as well as some features of the extension.

Note: cs_seo is not developed by us. If you have any questions or problems with the extension, please contact the developers directly.

Installation & configuration

In video no. 1 we show the installation and basic configuration of the extension. Our TYPO3 sample project is used here as an example.

In the video you can also see what adjustments you need to make if you already read meta information such as keywords or description from the page properties via TypoScript and output it in the HTML source code.

The "SEO" section in the page properties

cs_seo adds some new fields to the page properties in the backend.

In the "SEO" section, for example, you can edit the browser title and description. Both are displayed in a practical preview that simulates the display in Google search results.

In addition, the automatically generated canonical tag can be manually overwritten here or the page can be excluded from indexing by search engines.

The "Social media" section in the page properties

The "Social media" section is also new in the page properties.

Special information for Facebook (Open Graph) or Twitter Cards can be stored here.

The back end module

The cs_seo backend module can be used to conveniently control parameters such as the browser title, the Facebook title or the robots meta tag.
