Welcome to the new issue of the TYPO3 Newsletter. Here you will find news and interesting facts from the TYPO3 universe.

The dashboard will be one of the new features of TYPO3 10, but it can already be installed as an extension for TYPO3 9. Richard Haeser, head of the "Dashboard Initiative", reports here on the background and goals of the project.

|
The menu content element "Section Index" can be used to create a kind of table of contents for an individual page. This is familiar from Wikipedia, for example. At the top of longer pages you will find a list of the headings of a page; if you click on a heading, the browser scrolls to the corresponding position on the page. The problem: If you use this menu on a hidden page that should be displayed "not in the menu", for example because it is only linked to internally but should not appear in the navigation, then no "section index" is displayed. The section simply remains empty.

For a form or email to be sent successfully via the website, it must be sent via a mailbox and the envelope-from and reply-to must be configured correctly. These instructions show how to do this.
|

Bookmarks have been around in TYPO3 for years. Nevertheless, they are one of the lesser-known functions.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Links in the CKEditor can of course be edited and changed at any time. In this short video we show a very quick method for this.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
If you want to use an icon, e.g. from Font Awesome in the CKEditor from time to time, this is not so easy. The editor in the default configuration (Default.yaml) handles the i-tags entered in the source text quite unconventionally when saving.

This list is only a selection of interesting extensions, not a recommendation or rating. The extensions have generally not been developed or tested by us.
Tip: not every extension has to be used 1:1. Sometimes the code of an extension can simply show how certain things can be done ;)
