|
|
Welcome to the new issue of the TYPO3 Newsletter. Here you will find news and interesting facts from the TYPO3 universe.
As a special highlight this month, we are offering readers of our TYPO3 Newsletter the opportunity to purchase the German translation of the TYPO3 Extbase eBook at a special discount.

A lot has also happened on the extension market, and many established and new, interesting extensions are now available for TYPO3 10.
Pro tip: if you ever want to find your extension, your blog article here in the newsletter: you will find the relevant information below!
And now, on behalf of the entire jweiland.net team, I hope you enjoy browsing through this newsletter! Stay healthy!

Last year, we offered readers of our newsletter an exclusive discount on the English-language TYPO3 Extbase eBook.
Since April, a translation of the book has also been available to German-speaking TYPO3 developers. The technical book provides beginners and advanced developers with access to the demanding subject matter and uses practical examples to show how to write clean code according to modern standards for TYPO3. Now you can also learn in German how to plan and develop projects with Extbase and Fluid and how to avoid typical security vulnerabilities in extensions.
As a subscriber to our TYPO3 newsletter, you will receive an exclusive 25% discount on the recommended retail price at Leanpub until June 12, 2020 and pay only US $27.74 plus VAT.
Take advantage of the offer now and secure the discount!

TYPO3 Core Lead, Benni Mack of b13 talks about how he hooked into the PHP Framework Interoperability Group, and what it means for the project. Getting involved with FIG has put TYPO3 in a position to innovate and collaborate with other PHP projects. TYPO3 is now easier to learn because it uses shared abstractions and widely used standards. This also opens up creative potential for TYPO3 developers.

Reserve - TYPO3 reservation system for corona lockdowns
|
|
|
In order to meet the requirements for controlling visitor flows in the context of corona lockdowns, we have developed a corresponding extension for one of our customers in a fast-track process. This allows time slots with a fixed maximum number of visitors to be managed for various facilities. Visitors can then reserve tickets for a time slot and receive a QR code to print out or display on their smartphone. A scanner module is integrated into the extension, with which QR codes can then be scanned at admission control.
The extension will be published for TYPO3 8, 9 and 10 in the TER next week.

As the TYPO3 Developer Days have been canceled this year we have thought about how to make it possible to have some time together to talk a bit about TYPO3 and what's happening this year.
For this reason, we decided to organize the TYPO3 TechSummer. We will have two evenings and a whole day of talks, time for hanging around via screen, and get in touch with each other. Thanks to the Orga Teams of various bar camps the TYPO3 TechSummer leads directly to the first global TYPO3 Online Bar Camp. We would really love to see you all on some great events and hope to get a bit of the nice community feeling of TYPO3 via the screens.
