It's time for another cleanup of relics from times long past: The TYPO3 Core Team is changing the official repository name on Github from TYPO3/TYPO3.CMS to typo3/typo3.
|

We are pleased to announce that the first stage of the documentation restructuring process has been completed. The documentation homepage and the global menu changes were published last week and contain a new layout for the homepage and a restructured menu.

Hey TYPO3 People, this week we have Frank Nägler with us this week for interesting TYPO3 Talk! Frank Nägler works as CTO for TYPO3 GmbH. He's been involved in developing the TYPO3 CMS core since October 2014 and has been programming professionally since 2000.

There are a few examples on the net of how to activate image manipulation for tt_content and define crop variants (cropVariants). I have not found an example of how to add crop properties directly to an image field in my own extension. After a long search and a lot of trial and error, this is my result, which works.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
With the help of the fields tt_content.layout and tt_content.frame_class you can influence the appearance of content elements and plugins in the frontend. But perhaps the list of options in the TYPO3 backend should adapt to previously made settings? After all, we don't want to burden the editors with non-functioning options. If you're looking for something like this, we might have just the thing for you.

Thanks to the z7_countries extension, a country configuration is now available in TYPO3 in addition to the existing language functionality. This makes it possible to display selected content specifically for different countries.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
The "Content Defender" extension is intended for the following scenarios:
- You want to allow only certain content elements in certain columns (colPos) of backend layouts or prohibit individual ones
- You want to limit the number of content elements that can be created in a column
In the video we show how easy it is to use the extension.
