Our Christmas present 2017
As every year, we take part in a campaign to help people have a wonderful Christmas. This year, we fulfilled many star wishes of children from needy families in Filderstadt during the Christmas star campaign.
The Christmas star campaign has been taking place in Filderstadt since 2010 and is run jointly by the Filder district deaconry, the Bernhausen Protestant Family Center, the "fuzo" youth club and the city of Filderstadt.
The budget for people living on state support is very tight. This leaves little room for the children's needs, which go beyond clothing and food.
While most children find beautifully wrapped presents under the Christmas tree, some families do not have enough money for this. This year, 552 children from needy families were able to make a wish as part of the Christmas Star campaign. With the help of sponsors and donors, the wishes were fulfilled and many Christmas presents were packed. These were then distributed to the families.
Instead of sending cards and Christmas presents to our customers, this year we made it possible for 40 children to receive a small gift at Christmas.
We hope that we were able to put a sparkle in the children's eyes and wish everyone a Merry Christmas.
