The TYPO3camp RheinRuhr: Networking, vision, diversity
Year after year, the TYPO3camp RheinRuhr is a highlight in the TYPO3 community calendar. The year 2023 was no exception - we were proud to be a sponsor and enthusiastic participant. A diverse audience of 180 participants, some of whom traveled as far as 900 kilometers, brought a wave of enthusiasm and inspiration to Kamp-Lintfort.
Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences once again provided the perfect backdrop for the camp. With five ultra-modern lecture halls and seminar rooms, it provided the ideal setting for a top-level exchange.
Networking began on Friday evening at the warm-up event, where old friendships were refreshed and new contacts made. Thanks to the shared accommodation in the same hotel, the exchange about TYPO3 went on well into the night and even continued over breakfast.
The weekend was characterized by an impressive variety of sessions - over 40 in total. Whether beginners or technical experts, everyone found suitable topics: From practical introductions to Composer, TypoScript and deployment to more in-depth discussions on unit testing.
For technology enthusiasts, topics such as authentication, API programming, collections and content security policy offered intensive training opportunities.
But the camp also looked beyond the TYPO3 horizon and offered insights into efficient working techniques with ChatGPT, the culture of dealing with errors, digital sales and humanity in a corporate context.
Saturday evening conjured up a convivial social event with a varied cold buffet and cool drinks. Some participants partied into the night, but discipline was evident in the fact that they turned up fresh and alert for the sessions on Sunday morning - with the exception of a few who arrived late and were welcomed with thunderous applause.
A special highlight was the exclusive insight into the future of the Government Site Builder: based on TYPO3 from 2024, it will contribute to the conversion of over 600 federal websites to this robust system.
The TYPO3camp RheinRuhr ended with a wealth of inspiration and new ideas for everyone involved. For those who missed this event, the dates for the next camps in Venlo, Dresden and Switzerland are already available - a must for anyone who wants to stay up to date in the world of TYPO3 and digital innovation.
