TYPO3camp Mallorca 2016 #t3cmallorca

From September 23-25, the 5th International TYPO3camp took place in Palma de Mallorca. As a premium sponsor, we were there with 6 employees.

The TYPO3camp Mallorca took place for the 5th time at the Catalonia Majorica conference center. Almost 80 participants met on the island to learn more about TYPO3. As a side effect, of course, there was also the chance to have a bit of fun and soak up the sun.

Unfortunately, "soaking up the sun" was not possible in the evening after the sessions. Saturday in particular was very rainy and almost chilly at times. But that didn't dampen the mood.

Traditionally, the camp began on Friday evening with the warm-up party, this time at Varadero Palma, a chic restaurant near the harbor promenade. Here, the camp participants were able to get to know each other and meet up with old friends and acquaintances. The location rewarded us with a magnificent view of the cathedral, which is particularly impressive when illuminated at night.

On Saturday, the camp started at around 10 am with the session planning. The agenda quickly filled up with interesting presentations and discussions on topics related to TYPO3 and beyond.

The social event on Saturday evening took place at Diablito, a restaurant very close to the conference center. We were able to satisfy our hunger with delicious snacks and pizza and exchange ideas with other participants.

The second day of the camp began on Sunday shortly after 10am. For unknown reasons, there weren't quite as many participants at the session planning as on Saturday. However, it probably had nothing to do with the fact that El Arenal is only a few kilometers away from the hotel. Nevertheless, interesting sessions were held.

By late afternoon, the camp was already over. The prize for the best session again went to Gernot Ploiner and his mask session. He successfully defended his title from the previous year.

Those who didn't have to leave on Sunday met up in the evening for the traditional, unofficial farewell dinner at the Meson Ca'n Pedro restaurant. There we were able to round off the evening and the camp in a relaxed atmosphere with new and old friends.

Unfortunately, there will be no camp in Mallorca next year; the next edition is planned for 2018. We would like to thank all the camp participants, the organizers, Helping Hands and sponsors for a wonderful, informative and educational event.
