jweiland.net at the Smashing Conference 2014

The Smashing Conference took place in Oxford from March 18 to 19. We were there with three employees.

The World Wide Web is constantly evolving. Conferences such as the Smashing Conference are a good place to get to know the latest technologies, trends and visions for the future at first hand. Here you not only learn new things, but also have the opportunity to get to know many of the pioneers in the fields of web design and web development personally.

The Smashing Conference offered a total of 18 presentations on these topics over two conference days. The conference was rounded off by evening events with further presentations and numerous workshops. We were able to learn more about the topics of "Advanced Front-End Development", "Designing for behavior with UX & Psychology" and "Mastering CSS".

Alongside the technical training, the cultural side was unfortunately a little neglected. Oxford is a fantastic, historic city. Numerous famous historical figures attended the university. And we encountered this history at every turn on our way from the hotel to the old town hall, where the conference took place. Actually, we would have liked more time to explore the city in more detail.

In any case, the trip was worth it. We packed a lot of new impressions, ideas, inspiration and memories of interesting conversations with participants from all over the world in our luggage back home.

We would like to thank the organizers of the conference. Everything was very well organized and we felt completely at ease!
