Behind the scenes: our project team
In our series "Behind the scenes at jweiland.net", today we are talking about our project business.
Our project work at jweiland.net accounts for just 10% and currently consists of four team members:
Jochen Weiland
He keeps an eye out for current tenders and checks whether the project is of interest to us. Yes, we are lucky enough to be able to choose our projects and don't accept everything that comes our way. That's what makes the difference. Our aim is to look after our customers in the long term and so, after many years, we are even on a first-name basis with some of our customers. Jochen loves to get hold of the special projects. The ones where we can learn something new are important to him. Anyone can do standard.
Riona Kuthe
Riona is our contact person for all customer projects. In addition to the constant coordination between customers and project participants, she is responsible for the design at our company. It is important to her that every customer is successful with their website and can fill it with new content quickly and easily. Her hobbyhorse is usability and CSS. And after work, she can never be found without her sketchbook and camera.
Riona is on Instagram as <link www.instagram.com/mixedpixels/ _blank>@mixedpixels. It's clear that millions of pixels are sent back and forth here every day. If you're looking for even more pixels from her, you'll find them on our @jweilandnet <link www.instagram.com/jweilandnet/ _blank>Instagram and <link twitter.com/jweilandnet _blank>Twitter accounts.
Wolfgang Wagner
Our "food blogger" for TYPO3. There is hardly a medium where he is not around. If the word "jweiland" appears anywhere on the net, he is usually informed within minutes and has an answer ready. He is also the one who takes care of our social media presence.
He also reliably carries out TYPO3 upgrades for our customers. A new request has just come in: Upgrade from TYPO3 4.4 to 7.6. That means first an update to 4.5 and then two more upgrades to get to 7.6. He estimated 8 hours: Well then, step on it.
His most important project, however, is to keep providing us with new <link>TYPO3-related videos. He is a born explainer and many TYPO3 users are very grateful to him for these video tutorials. Many a light has been turned on while watching them.
Stefan Frömken
Our Extbase junkie and bug hunter. We have given him an extra large monitor so that he doesn't get too much sun and feels comfortable. He's always out and about in the TYPO3 source code to implement new customer requirements as smartly and API-compliantly as possible. When Stefan gets clear and unambiguously written service descriptions, he conjures up the best extensions from them.
He likes to laugh at Jochen's previous programming style and teases him with the word "spaghetti code".
